Airport Skate

Red Cross

We wanted to get 100 skaters to raise a minimum of £50 each for the British Red Cross Charity to raise money for the Nepal Earthquake disaster by getting sponsored to skate on the Airport Runway – a distance of about 3 miles, there and back!

With perfect conditions the only obstacles were the mail plane running late and a possible emergency flight being scheduled which left a limited window to skate.

Over 50 skaters turned up (and a couple of boardies too!) and we raised over £2100!!

Well done everyone. Maybe do it again next year?
